Riverside Church is a non-denominational church who believes in the two greatest commandments that Jesus taught us in Mark 12:30-31: Love God, and love others.
Riverside is made up of families of all ages and backgrounds. We are a caring congregation that strongly believes in reaching out beyond ourselves to spread and apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ. WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be the actual words of God, inspired by Him and then written down by others as dictated to them by Almighty God. It is the final authority in which all believers in Jesus Christ are to live by (2 Timothy 3:14-17).
THE TRINITY
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
(Matthew 28:18-20).
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood as our substitute on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascen- sion to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return one day in power and glory (Matthew 1:18-25) (Hebrews 1:1-3) (Acts 1:6-11) (Colossians 1:15-20).
REDEMPTION
We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful mankind, regeneration of the heart by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. The Holy Spirit is a wonderful gift given to the believer upon turning ones life over to the the Lord Jesus (John 3:16-18) (Titus 3:3-7).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who is alive and powerful, and enables the Christian to live a godly life in the present evil world, and allows us to communi- cate with God as well, as we pray, listen to His voice and read His word (John 14:26) (Acts 2:38) (Ro- mans 15:13) (Titus 3:5-6).
THE RESURRECTION
We believe in the resurrection of all humans; they that are saved will spend eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ, and they that are not, will spend eternity without Him (John 11:25-26) (Matthew 25:31-46).
SPIRITUAL UNITY
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ (Ephesians 4:3) (Romans 15:6).
