WHAT TO EXPECT
What will happen when I visit for the first time?
If you are visiting for the first time we will not single you out, make you stand up in front of people or ask you to give money. We realize that many people would rather stay to themselves while they check out a church for the first time - and that’s fine with us! However, if you would like assistance with your first visit our First Impressions team is available to help out if needed. You can also fill out the welcome packet at your seat to let us know you were here.
What should I wear?
You’ll see everything from casual clothes to business suits at our services. Whatever makes you comfortable is alright with us. At Riverside, we are more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear.
What’s available for my kids?
Your children are our top priority at Riverside Church. All of our classrooms are clean, safe and staffed with loving workers who are required to pass national background checks. A computerized check-in system is in place to ensure the location of each child and to ensure that only you can pick them up after church has ended.
Our dynamic children’s ministry, RiverKids is divided into six age groups:
- Nursery (ages 0-2 years)
- Pre School (ages 3-4)
- Kinder-1st (ages 5-7)
- Elementary (2nd and 3rd)
- Preteen (4th and 5th Grade)
- Middle School (6th – 8th Grades)
We're sure your children will love it!
How can I meet others and get connected?
There are several ways to get involved and meet other people. The best place to begin is by attending our midweek events, also participating in church outreach projects. You can also connect greatly by volunteering in any of our ministries. In each of these you’ll be able to grow in your faith, build friendships and learn more about Riverside.
How can I be discipled and grow?
Our desire is to see you become a fully-devoted follower of Christ. The best place to start is attending the next Pizza with the Pastor and the new membership class where you can learn more about Riverside Church, our philosophy of faith and our core values and have a chance to ask questions and meet other new people.
